We will be giving free flu vaccinations to “at risk” patients from late September.
The sooner you have your vaccination the greater the protection that it will
provide for you personally over the coming months and the harder it will be for flu to
spread through families and communities.
Free vaccination on the NHS is available for anyone aged 65 or over, and for people
aged between six months and 64 who fall into a group with a higher than normal risk
of infection. This includes people with chronic diseases of the heart, liver or kidneys,
respiratory diseases such as asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, diabetes,
anyone with a suppressed immune system and pregnant women.
If you fall into one of these categories, get in early and book an appointment now for a free
All children between 2 and 4 on 31st August 2015 and in school years 1 and 2 are being offered
a nasal spray to immunise them against flu. Children who are eligible will receive a letter
from our surgery.
